Jeff at the Lime Valley entrance to the Sakatah Trail

Welcome to my website, my name is Jeff, I always enjoyed bicycling and during my 30's riding became a big part of my life. I have a trail bike (the Trek 7200 pictured) as well as a recumbent and a mountain bike (which you learn to ride rather gently as you reach your 40's).

Bicycling has introduced me to a number of related interests, here's a short list.

I ride as many of the Minnesota trails as I can through the summertime, and because the Sakatah is close by me, I get the chance to lots of my trail time on it.

Snowdrift in April 1st just outside of Madison Lake

I wait for the snow to melt in the spring, trying to get on the trail in early March (if I can)...

I ride through summer weekdays and weekends, all the way into late fall. Sometimes I even ride in December!. But sooner or later in Minnesota, the trail fills with the snow. When that happens, I sit at home, look at my pictures, ride biycle in my basement, rebuild my bicycles, thinking of the good times I've had, and I wait for spring to come - It's usually only 3 months of waiting.

It started out as excercise, but it's become more than that to me. I have learned to appreciate the unique beauty of this trail. There is so much to see and enjoy!

My main goal for creating this website is to introduce you to the Sakatah, and to encourage you to come and enjoy it as well. There is plenty of trail for everyone, and it makes a great summer outing.

A special thank-you to the State of Minnesota for funding and supporting the trail. The folks at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources do a great job of maintaining the trail, and making it safe and accessible. You are great! Thanks to all of you!

This site is a work in progress, I've tried to be careful and accurate, but if you see something that needs fixing, please send me an email and I will do what I can.

And... if you ever want a take a ride with me, please let me know, I always enjoy the company - Happy trails!
